ITINEARY

Day 1

NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport – Phuentsholing

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport and transfer to Phuentsholing - The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. It is a thriving commercial center on the northern edge of the Indian Plains. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

Day 2

Phuentsholing – Thimphu

After breakfast complete the immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Day 3

Thimphu Sightseeing – Punakha /

After breakfast visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue), King's Memorial Chorten (Monument) & Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon transfer to Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang (4,300 ft.), via Dochu-La-Pass (10,170 ft.) to view the higher Himalayas. The pass also has 108 Druk Wangyal Khangzang Chorten which is believed brings multi fold merit to all sentient beings and which make the pass a must visit place. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang.

Day 4

Punakha / Wangdue Sightseeing – Paro

After breakfast check out from hotel with bag & baggage’s and visit the Punakha Dzong - built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Je-Khenpo and King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the first National Assembly here in 1952. After that take a short excursion trip to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang - The Temple, also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, “The Devine Mad Man”. After noon drive to Paro. On arrival check in at the hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.

Day 5

Paro Sightseeing

After breakfast visit Drukgyel Dzong. Also visit famous Taktsang Monastery - called “Tiger's Nest” (2hrs hike from the base camp) & Kitchu Monastery. Overnight stay will be at Paro.

Day 6

Paro – Phuentsholing

After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Phuentsholing. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

Day 7

Phuentsholing – NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport

After breakfast check out from the hotel and take the departure transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.

  • Please do not touch any religious artifact or antique.
  • Purchase of religious items especially antiques is prohibited.
  • Please take off hats while entering Dzong, temple or monastery.
  • Shorts / half pants are not permitted while entering a Dzong, temple or monastery.
  • Before entering a Dzong, temple, monastery, please switch off all mobile phones or keep in the silent / vibrating mode.
  • Please speak softly within the religious premises.
  • Please remember not to point with a single finger but use an upturned flat extended hand especially to indicate a sacred object or place.
  • Package valid for Indian nationals only.
  • Please refrain from touching any ritual objects or mural paintings.
  • Please do not walk over any clothes, books, hearth or materials left open in religious sites.
  • Please refrain from smoking or drinking while visiting religious places. If you are not sure please ask the local people or the guide.
  • Water supply in the hills during the peak season is restricted due to shortage and water is supplied area wise at specific times. Please co-operate with the hotel for the same.
  • Do carry comfortable walking shoes.
  • The hotel confirmed will be as per the mail or an alternate hotel of similar category.
  • Visas are not required for Indian nationals.
  • All the prices are for Indian nationals only, unless specified.
  • It is mandatory to carry a valid photo identity card (Voter ID card / Passport - passport should have a validity of minimum 6 months).
